The roles of Nanotechnology and Internet of Nano things in healthcare transformation

http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0123-77992017000300011

Healthcare, as a basic human right, did not remain immune to innovative technologies. Technological progress has significantly contributed to high-quality, on-time, acceptable and affordable healthcare. Since their appearance, nanotechnology and the Internet of Nano Things (IoNT) have continuously affected healthcare and have a tremendous influence on its transformation, contributing to the better outcome. The inclusion of nanotechnology in medicine through nanomaterials and nanodevices, known as nanomedicine, has brought numerous benefits in disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Going further by connecting nanodevices to the Internet, the IoNT paradigm has been created. The inclusion of IoNT concepts in healthcare has resulted in more personalized, timely, and convenient health monitoring and treatment. Hence, nanotechnology and the IoNT hold the potential to completely revolutionize healthcare in the 21st Century, creating a system that will enable early disease detection and diagnosis followed by accurate, on-time and effective treatment with significantly reduced healthcare costs. This paper presents the roles of nanotechnology and IoNT in medicine and healthcare, and attempts to gain an insight of nanoscale solutions and approaches, highlighting benefits and discussing potential risks and concerns. Despite concerns regarding nanotoxicity, privacy and security issues, it is anticipated that nanotechnology and IoNT will show their full potential in medicine and healthcare in the years to come.

Human Successfully Vaccinated By Genetically Modified Mosquitos

https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/scitranslmed.abn9709

Genetically attenuated malaria parasite vaccines are currently being developed as candidates for protection against Plasmodium falciparum infection. Murphy et al. used a genetically attenuated P. falciparum sporozoite vaccine they had previously developed that has deletions in parasite genes P52, P36, and SAP1 (PfGAP3KO) to evaluate protection against controlled human malaria infection (CHMI). Vaccine was administered three or five times by ~200 PfGAP3KO-infected mosquito bites per immunization and did not cause any breakthrough infections. CHMI challenge was carried out 1 month after final immunization via P. falciparum–infected mosquito bites. Half of the individuals in each vaccine group did not develop detectable P. falciparum infection, and a subset of these individuals was subjected to a second CHMI 6 months later and remained partially protected. These results support further development of genetically attenuated sporozoites as potential malaria vaccines.

36% Higher Risk of Asthma in Some Kids Who Had Vaccine-Related Aluminum Exposure

https://els-jbs-prod-cdn.jbs.elsevierhealth.com/pb/assets/raw/Health%20Advance/journals/acap/Aluminium_Exposure_Article-1664288052690.pdf

A federally funded study released Tuesday reported a “positive association” between “vaccine-related aluminum exposure” and “persistent asthma” in children 24-59 months old. Overall, kids in the study who received 3 milligrams or more of vaccine-related aluminum had at least a 36% higher risk of developing persistent asthma than kids who got less than 3, the study’s lead author, Dr. Matthew F. Daley, told The Associated Press. Daley was quick to urge caution in the interpretation of the results, telling STAT, “I’m still going to advocate for vaccines as strongly as I did before we had these findings.” The study was published in the medical journal Academic Pediatrics. In addition to Daley, the authors included Dr. Frank DeStefano and other current and former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) staff. The authors were careful to not suggest a causal relationship between vaccine-related aluminum and asthma and noted that “additional investigation of this hypothesis appears warranted.”

Curcumin Helping To Prevent Fluoride Induced Damage In The Brain

https://www.worldhealth.net/news/curcumin-helping-prevent-fluoride-induced-damage-brain/

In a compelling study conducted by researchers from the Department of Zoology, University  College of Science, curcumin has been shown to attenuate neurotoxicity induced by fluoride with in vivo evidence, as published in the Pharmacognosy Magazine. The work adds experimental support to suspicions that fluoride is indeed a brain damaging toxic substance, and reveals that curcumin has a natural derived natural protective against which can be used against various health effects associated with the compound. The researchers have spent the past decade investigating mechanisms through which fluoride is able to induce severe neurodegenerative changes with the mammalian brain, particularly within the cells of the hippocampus and cerebral cortex. The study begins with describing historical backdrop for concern with fluorides significant and wide ranging toxicity:  It is probably the first inorganic ion drawing attention for its toxic effects, and now toxicity through drinking water is a well known global issue. Reports on health effect with exposure include various cancers, adverse reproductive activities, and cardiovascular and neurological diseases.

A parasitological evaluation of edible insects and their role in the transmission of parasitic diseases to humans and animals

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31283777/

“Parasites were detected in 244 (81.33%) out of 300 (100%) examined insect farms. In 206 (68.67%) of the cases, the identified parasites were pathogenic for insects only; in 106 (35.33%) cases, parasites were potentially parasitic for animals; and in 91 (30.33%) cases, parasites were potentially pathogenic for humans. Edible insects are an underestimated reservoir of human and animal parasites.”

Chitin and Its Effects on Inflammatory and Immune Responses

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28251581/

“Chitin, a potential allergy-promoting pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP), is a linear polymer composed of N-acetylglucosamine residues which are linked by β-glycosidic bonds. Mammalians are potential hosts for chitin-containing protozoa, fungi, arthropods, and nematodes; however, mammalians themselves do not synthetize chitin and thus it is considered as a potential target for recognition by mammalian immune system. Chitin is sensed primarily in the lungs or gut where it activates a variety of innate and adaptive immune cells. Chitin induces cytokine production, leukocyte recruitment, and alternative macrophage activation.”

More than 150 Comparative Studies and Articles on Mask Ineffectiveness and Harms

https://brownstone.org/articles/more-than-150-comparative-studies-and-articles-on-mask-ineffectiveness-and-harms/

Because we saw very early on that the lockdowns were the single greatest mistake in public health history. We knew the history and knew they would not work. We also knew very early of COVID’s risk stratification. Sadly, our children will bear the catastrophic consequences and not just educationally, of the deeply flawed school closure policy for decades to come (particularly our minority children who were least able to afford this). Many are still pressured to wear masks and punished for not doing so. I present the masking ‘body of evidence’ below (n=167 studies and pieces of evidence), comprised of comparative effectiveness research as well as related evidence and high-level reporting. To date, the evidence has been stable and clear that masks do not work to control the virus and they can be harmful and especially to children.

Hydrogel Actuators and Sensors for Biomedical Soft Robots

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/326311901_Hydrogel_Actuators_and_Sensors_for_Biomedical_Soft_Robots_Brief_Overview_with_Impending_Challenges

There are numerous developments taking place in the field of biorobotics, and one such recent breakthrough is the implementation of soft robots—a pathway to mimic nature’s organic parts for research purposes and in minimally invasive surgeries as a result of their shape-morphing and adaptable features. Hydrogels (biocompatible, biodegradable materials that are used in designing soft robots and sensor integration), have come into demand because of their beneficial properties, such as high water content, flexibility, and multi-faceted advantages particularly in targeted drug delivery, surgery and biorobotics. We illustrate in this review article the different types of biomedical sensors and actuators for which a hydrogel acts as an active primary material, and we elucidate their limitations and the future scope of this material in the nexus of similar biomedical avenues.

DNA-based nanocomposite hydrogel as a potent injectable drug delivery platform

https://www.nanowerk.com/spotlight/spotid=51136.php

(Nanowerk Spotlight) DNA is the carrier of genetic information of all living beings on earth. The nitrogenous base sequences along the DNA chain are responsible for the encoding and transmission of genetic information. Besides being a genetic material, DNA can also be considered as a chemical entity and hence can be exploited as a base matrix to form tissue engineering scaffolds and drug delivery platforms. From a chemical perspective, DNA is a long chain polymer consisting of monomeric repeat units. Each repeat unit consists of a deoxyribose sugar molecule linked to a phosphate group. Every monomeric unit is also connected to one of the four nitrogenous bases. The base pairing interactions between the DNA strands are highly specific. Together with the binding of other substances to the backbone, this can be exploited to construct three-dimensionally interconnected hydrogel networks.

The Complete List of the Pfizer Adverse Events of Special Interest

https://drjessesantiano.com/the-complete-list-of-the-pfizer-adverse-events-of-special-interest/

An adverse event of special interest (serious or non-serious) is one of scientific and medical concern specific to the sponsor’s product or program, for which ongoing monitoring and rapid communication by the investigator to the sponsor may be appropriate. Such an event may require further investigation in order to characterize and understand it. Depending on the nature of the event, rapid communication by the trial sponsor to other parties may also be needed (e.g., regulators). The list below many conditions that can lead to sudden death. Many will not get the correct diagnosis, especially the elderly, because the casualties will be blamed on pre-existing medical problems like coronary artery disease and diabetes. That is why the VAERS report will undoubtedly be underreported.

Nanotechnology promises new solutions for many applications in the biomedical, industrial and military fields as well as in consumer and industrial goods. The interconnection of nanoscale devices with existing communication networks and ultimately the Internet defines a new networking paradigm that is further referred to as the Internet of Nano-Things. Within this context, this paper discusses the state of the art in electromagnetic communication among nanoscale devices. An in-depth view is provided from the communication and information theo-retic perspective, by highlighting the major research challenges in terms of channel model-ing, information encoding and protocols for nanonetworks and the Internet of Nano-Things.

The Futre Of Citizen Data Systems

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/927547/GOS_The_Future_of_Citizen_Data_Systems_Report__2_.pdf

The world is in the middle of a data revolution. With every passing second, the volume of digital information that flows between businesses, governments and people is expanding rapidly. Data now increasingly underpins our everyday lives: we use it to shop online, to monitor our exercise regimes and personal bank accounts. It has been a crucial weapon in the battle against coronavirus, and has become an increasingly important aspect of international trade and global relations. This digital transformation represents a huge opportunity for the UK. By harnessing the power of data, we can boost growth and productivity, drive innovation, improve public services and inform a new wave of scientific research. Our upcoming National Data Strategy is an ambitious bid to make the most of this moment, so that data’s value can be felt across the entire UK. But we also need to understand the growing risks associated with the data boom, including cybercrime and disinformation. This report helps us identify those threats, and the government has been careful to reflect its findings in our own National Data Strategy, so that we can protect members of the public while they experience data’s many benefits

How to ‘BLAST’ your way to the truth about the origins of COVID-19

https://archive.ph/18Ho4#selection-227.0-227.64

Dr Ah Kahn Syed: “I’ve been meaning to write this blog for ever. Well, at least since Prashant Pradhan (a wonderful, honest and brave genomics scientist) raised the possibility back in February 2020 that the SARS-Cov2 virus was man made. And we have seen multiple confirmatory pieces that the virus was made in a lab, one of the better ones here on zenodo and with its own cute video for non-Bayesian peeps here. As of writing this those links are still up which at 12 months is pretty good going for any article that dares challenge the drivel propagandized by our beloved “free press [sponsored by pharma]”. Anyway, BLAST is the NCBI/NIH (aka US government) repository for genomic and proteomic sequences, amongst other things. It is where all genome scientists around the world deposit their sequences if they make a discovery. Its main function is to allow comparison of gene sequences and discovery of sequences that match one that you might have come across in your experiment. What’s a gene sequence? That’s easy. It’s a line of code, made up of any combination of 4 letters in a sequence.”

are 5% of VAX LOTs causing 100% of deaths? Are the expiration date profiles the same between manufacturers? And more!

https://jessicar.substack.com/p/the-vax-lot-saga-continues

The first thing I did when I got this new date data for the VAX LOTs was append the new data onto my existing VAERS data set using VAX LOT as a common variable. What this accomplished, besides combining the data sets, was to majorly clean up the VAX LOT column entries in the VAERS set and seemingly, mostly at the expense of all of the non-sensical and mis-entered VAX LOT data. Excellent! The only pending issue is the as yet unidentified VAX LOTs that got left behind in the appending process: it is possible that those lots are very important. It is even possible that the list of VAX LOTs in the new data set are the ‘active’ LOTs and therefore, the ones that got dropped, may represent the ‘inactive’ ones – aka: Saline. Just an idea. But likely any Saline lots would never end up in VAERS. But it is possible. I have no way to verify if this new VAX LOT list is remotely complete. The data loss after merging the sets went like this: approximately 49% of the data for Pfizer, 47% for Moderna and 46% for Janssen. That’s brutal but I can live with it considering the absolute counts are so large so start with. With the fresh and clean merged by VAX LOT data set with the new manufacturing and expiration date columns, we can do some calculatin’ and funduggery. The total numbers of adverse events following the data merge is 155,942166,924 and 32,828 for Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen products, respectively. The total numbers of death adverse event reports following the data merge is 2,9752,585 and 556 for Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen products, respectively.

145-Country Study Shows Sharp INCREASE of Transmission and DEATH After Introduction of COVID Vaccines

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/01/massive-145-country-study-shows-sharp-increase-transmission-death-introduction-covid-vaccines/

“The statistically significant and overwhelmingly positive causal impact after vaccine deployment on the dependent variables total deaths and total cases per million should be highly worrisome for policy makers. They indicate a marked increase in both COVID-19 related cases and death due directly to a vaccine deployment that was originally sold to the public as the ‘key to gain back our freedoms.’The effect of vaccines on total cases per million and its low positive association with total vaccinations per hundred signifies a limited impact of vaccines on lowering COVID-19 associated cases. These results should encourage local policy makers to make policy decisions based on data, not narrative, and based on local conditions, not global or national mandates. These results should also encourage policy makers to begin looking for other avenues out of the pandemic aside from mass vaccination campaigns.”

Quantitative proteomics reveals a broad‐spectrum antiviral property of ivermectin, benefiting for COVID‐19 treatment

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7536980/

“Viruses such as human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), human papillomavirus (HPV), Epstein–Barr virus (EBV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and coronavirus (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 [SARS‐CoV‐2]) represent a great burden to human health worldwide. FDA‐approved anti‐parasite drug ivermectin is also an antibacterial, antiviral, and anticancer agent, which offers more potentiality to improve global public health, and it can effectively inhibit the replication of SARS‐CoV‐2 in vitro. This study sought to identify ivermectin‐related virus infection pathway alterations in human ovarian cancer cells. Stable isotope labeling by amino acids in cell culture (SILAC) quantitative proteomics was used to analyze human ovarian cancer cells TOV‐21G treated with and without ivermectin (20 μmol/L) for 24 h, which identified 4447 ivermectin‐related proteins in ovarian cancer cells. Pathway network analysis revealed four statistically significant antiviral pathways, including HCMV, HPV, EBV, and HIV1 infection pathways. Interestingly, compared with the reported 284 SARS‐CoV‐2/COVID‐19‐related genes from GencLip3, we identified 52 SARS‐CoV‐2/COVID‐19‐related protein alterations when treated with and without ivermectin. Protein–protein network (PPI) was constructed based on the interactions between 284 SARS‐CoV‐2/COVID‐19‐related genes and between 52 SARS‐CoV‐2/COVID‐19‐related proteins regulated by ivermectin. Molecular complex detection analysis of PPI network identified three hub modules, including cytokines and growth factor family, MAP kinase and G‐protein family, and HLA class proteins. Gene Ontology analysis revealed 10 statistically significant cellular components, 13 molecular functions, and 11 biological processes. These findings demonstrate the broad‐spectrum antiviral property of ivermectin benefiting for COVID‐19 treatment in the context of predictive, preventive, and personalized medicine in virus‐related diseases.

Is it Possible to Patent Genetically-Modified Humans?

https://web.archive.org/web/20221025140900/https://expose-news.com/2022/10/24/possible-to-patent-genetically-modified-humans/

In 2013, ‘Pathology vs. Myriad Genetics’, the US Supreme Court ruled complementary DNA (“cDNA”) could be patented: “the lab technician unquestionably creates something new when cDNA is made”. cDNA is a form of DNA artificially synthesised from a messenger RNA template. It is used in genetic engineering to produce gene clones. The petitioners asked the US Supreme Court to address the legal question of whether human genes are patentable. Based on the Supreme Court’s analysis, the answer was a resounding and unanimous “no.” However, the 2013 ruling is important in the context of Covid because it means the synthetic genes encoded in the injections, and consequently, the spike protein manufactured within people’s bodies, are owned by the patent holder and can be pursued for private gain. Additionally, if the genetic code for the spike protein integrates into human DNA, in legal terms, it is possible that people altered by it would be considered genetically modified organisms (“GMOs”). It may be that GMOs, or genetically modified human beings, are patented and could be placed under license agreements which could be negotiated without their knowledge. As James Corbett discussed in a 2020 podcast, It is unclear what the practical implications of the 2013 ruling for “vaccinated” people will be and further court rulings will most likely be needed to clarify their legal position.

Reverse Transcription of Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 In Vitro in Human Liver Cell Line

https://www.mdpi.com/1467-3045/44/3/73/htm#B25-cimb-44-00073

Preclinical studies of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine BNT162b2, developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, showed reversible hepatic effects in animals that received the BNT162b2 injection. Furthermore, a recent study showed that SARS-CoV-2 RNA can be reverse-transcribed and integrated into the genome of human cells. In this study, we investigated the effect of BNT162b2 on the human liver cell line Huh7 in vitro. Huh7 cells were exposed to BNT162b2, and quantitative PCR was performed on RNA extracted from the cells. We detected high levels of BNT162b2 in Huh7 cells and changes in gene expression of long interspersed nuclear element-1 (LINE-1), which is an endogenous reverse transcriptase. Immunohistochemistry using antibody binding to LINE-1 open reading frame-1 RNA-binding protein (ORFp1) on Huh7 cells treated with BNT162b2 indicated increased nucleus distribution of LINE-1. PCR on genomic DNA of Huh7 cells exposed to BNT162b2 amplified the DNA sequence unique to BNT162b2. Our results indicate a fast up-take of BNT162b2 into human liver cell line Huh7, leading to changes in LINE-1 expression and distribution. We also show that BNT162b2 mRNA is reverse transcribed intracellularly into DNA in as fast as 6 h upon BNT162b2 exposure.
